The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is cheap, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the have pushed up the price of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints in the world, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing profitable too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
